Gauge measurement error is often an important source of variability in manufacturing applications. The aim of this work is to study the effect of multivariate measurement errors on multivariate capability indices computed using the principal component analysis. The results show that gauge imprecision may alter the multivariate process capability analysis and that the effect may be either a decrease or an increase in the apparent capability of the process
