DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SUBJECTING A LIQUID TO PLASMA TREATMENT

none6The invention regards a non-thermal (or cold) plasma source, that is, a device for generating a plasma at a relatively low temperature (e.g. around 40°C). It is known to generate plasma inside a volume filled with water, in order to subject said water to specific treatments, such as sterilization. According a known technology, in a water filled recipient, it is arranged a first electrode having a flat edge and a second electrode having sharp edge and directed towards the flat electrode; said electrodes are connected to the ground and to a HV generator, respectively, whereby corona discharges occur around the sharp electrode, thus generating a plasma treatment for the water surrounding said sharp electrode. However, said technology allows to treat only a small amount of water. Furthermore, a long time is required for securing that the whole amount of water contained in the recipient is subject to plasma treatment.
