Background: The redox-silent vitamin E analog a-tocopheryl succinate (a-TOS) was found to synergistically cooperate with vitamin K3 (VK3) plus ascorbic acid (AA) in the induction of cancer cell-selective apoptosis via a caspase-independent pathway.
