In the last years the wireless metropolitan area networks have increased their popularity and attracted the interest of the most important research groups all over the world. Several standards have been defined, in particular IEEE 802.16 has taken a relevant role in achieving a full-service broadband wireless network all over a urban and suburban area. This paper deals with the resource allocation problem by considering the resource request and data scheduling of the active stations.
