In Mongolia, the low and seasonal yield of native pastures causes a feed gap between the annual pasture provision and the requirements of grazing ruminants. Therefore, there is a growing need to improve the feeding value of locally available resources such as wheat straw for supplementary feeding. Wheat straw constitutes an important source of roughage for ruminants.
