La sindrome patellofemorale è la causa più comune di dolore anteriore al ginocchio ed è di frequente riscontro nella pratica clinica. Attualmente il trattamento del PFPS è incentrato sul rispristino del normale scorrimento rotuleo e sul recupero della stabilità dinamica. Diversi studi dimostrano che la terapia manuale e l’esercizio sono efficaci nel trattamento del PFPS e mentre agire sui fattori di rischio è importante per prevenirne la ricorrenza.
