This paper will focus the methodology to assess and define the significant environmental and energy aspects related to industrial plants. The methodology reported has been applied to a real case study (combined cycle energy production utility). Moreover the paper deals with the main items related to the implementation of a management system in an industrial plant and the connections between energy and environmental aspects. A flow-chart of the activities involved in the implementation of the environmental and energy management system is reported
