Confidentiality, privacy, nursing, patients, professional Ethics.[spa] Objetivos: Identificar cuáles son las acciones que facilitan mantener el respeto hacia los pacientes, cuáles son las acciones que vulneran la intimidad y sus derechos y cuáles son sus opiniones ante la buena o mala praxis de la práctica asistencial por parte de los pacientes. Estrategia de búsqueda bibliográfica y resultados: Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos: Pubmed, Cinahl y Cuiden. Seleccionando 33 artículos de los cuales finalmente se han utilizado 22. Discusión: Aunque se trata de un tema de suma importancia, se ha podido comprobar que existen pocos estudios referentes a la intimidad y a su salvaguarda en el ámbito de la relación profesional-paciente, y de cómo puede afectar a los pacientes tanto en el bueno o mal manejo de la misma; durante la práctica asistencial de los profesionales. Destacar la preocupación que siempre ha tenido el personal de enfermería por este aspecto. Conclusiones: En la actualidad se siguen vulnerando los derechos y la intimidad de los pacientes. Cosa que les afecta negativamente. Sería preciso que los profesionales, realizaran una reflexión a cerca de mejorar su trabajo en éste sentido, y realizar diferentes intervenciones para su cambio
