[eng] This research is aimed at contributing to the existing knowledge in experiential tourism as an innovative strategy to enhance tourism competitiveness. Nowadays, the complexity surrounding the incipient notion of experiential tourism is embodied in the need for new analysis and contributions, both theoretical and empirical. Furthermore, the need to approach tourism competitiveness under the demand scope, rather than the adopting the supplier’s point of view, is also present. Only once the ambiguous definitions of experiential tourism and tourism competitiveness are clarified, the link between both notions can be explored.
