Revision of the genus Helvella (Ascomycota: Fungi) in Mexico [Revisión del género Helvella (Ascomycota: Fungi) en e México]

A taxonomic revision of Helvella species cited for Mexico is presented. Of the 29 species and 1 variety previously cited for the country, we confirmed the presence of 18 species, the other 11 and the variety are doubtful or do not correspond to the taxon to which they were cataloged. Helvella compressa is reported for the first time for Mexican mycobiota, therefore we recognize 19 species of Helvella to Mexico. Taxonomic comments for species that thrive in Mexico are included, as well as some observations for some still not yet found in the country. A key to the species that grow in Mexico and some related is presented
