[eng] Currently, due to the global spread of English as a lingua franca, English Language Teaching has adopted a communicative approach. Language assessment practices have also changed a lot throught the last century to fulfill the new social needs, but there is still reluctance to abandon old practices such as standarized tests. These practices seem to be very rooted in high schools, specially when grammar is to be concerned. This project looks into the evolution of assessment practices during the last century and analizes the new alternatives in assessment that have emerged to make up for old practices.
