INTRODUCTION: Distal metatarsal osteotomies have been described for surgical treatment of hallux valgus with good results. The aim of this study is to review the results of our first 1000 consecutive hallux valgus cases treated by minimally invasive distal metatarsal osteotomy, SERI (Simple Effective Rapid Inexpensive). MATERIAL AND METHODS: 1000 feet in 641 patients (359 bilateral), aged between 20 and 65 years (mean 49) affected by hallux valgus without arthritis were studied.
