ABSTRACT The southeastern sector of the Po Plain Basin evolved, during the Bartonian-Holocene interval, from a deep marine basin characterised by hemipelagic deposition, to a foredeep basin progressively filled by turbiditic sediments. The evolution of the depositional setting was inferred by the analysis of the geohistory curves. They are built, using the BasinMod 1D program, on the basis of lithostratigraphic, sedimentological and micropaleontological data obtained by the study of the Cenozoic succession drilled by the Gallare 1 and Codigoro 1 wells.
