The female mammary gland is an organ with numerous and varied functions. Although lactation is the function for which it exists, it is not the only one nor the principal one. Lactation is a function that, in addition to providing the best source of food for a newborn, helps establish a close correlation between mother and child. With the passage of time, however, the mammary gland has become the organ of greatest importance in a woman's sensuality. For this reason, it is not currently considered exclusively as an organ with the single function of breastfeeding.
