World fauna of myxosporeans of the genus Kudoa (Myxosporea: Kudoidae)

Literary and original data were revised and stated that 97 of 127 Kudoa myxosporidians had been identified to species level but 30 still listed as Kudoa sp. 12 species of the genus (K. alliaria, K. clupeidae, K. histolytica, K. mirabilis, K. nova, K. paniformis, K. rosenbuschi, K. stellula, K. thyrsites, K. trifolia, K. unicapsula, K. inornata) and two Kudoa spp. from the Atlantic basin (including the Mediterranean and Black Seas), Indian and Pacific Oceans were studied on original material and two of them revealed to be new species, K. stellula and K. unicapsula. The confinement of Kudoa to the hosts, their distribution in the seas, oceans and fresh waters, the localization in the host body were discussed. The main pathogen species of Kudoa and methods to prevent kudoozises were described
