PCBs distribution in the tissues of Mytilus galloprovincialis Lam. was studied. It was found that in the animals from natural population these contaminants accumulated mainly in hepatopancreas (40,0 %) and foot (34,4 %). The gonads were in the second stage of reproductive cycle. Total PCBs level significantly increased in gills and foot by 57 and 160 % (p<0,05) under chronic toxicological experiment (110 n g l-1 of PCBs in the water), respectively.
