The dependence of the specific growth rate of the sea bacterioplankton population on the population density dynamics in waters of different trophy has been investigated. The parameters of the model of the bacterioplankton population growth in the surface layer are obtained for the oligotrophic and mesotrophic areas of the sea as well as for sewage-polluted areas. The interrelation between the saprophytic microflora (the plate method) and total bacterioplankton (the direct method) in „conditionally pure" regions of the sea shelf and on outlets of domestic sewage is considered.
