The reproductive features of ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi in inshore zone of the Black Sea

Study of reproductive features of ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi in the inshore waters of the Black Sea in 2003 –2014 showed that fecundity had decreased for the recent years (2010 –2014). It is possible that the reason of it is the climate warming which led to an increase in upper mixed layer temperature above optimal and reduction of ctenophore feeding rate. Input of larvae in the total population reproduction rate was estimated.Исследование репродуктивных особенностей гребневика Mnemiopsis leidyi в шельфовой зоне Черного моря в 2003 – 2014 гг показало снижение плодовитости в последние годы (2010 – 2014). Причиной этому могло послужить потепление климата, приведшее к повышению температуры верхнего перемешанного слоя выше оптимальной и сокращению интенсивности питания животных.
