The phytoplankton community of the Taganrog bay of Azov Sea during the winter period.

There presented investigations results of species composition and quantitative characteristics of plankton phytocenoses in the Taganrog bay of Azov Sea developed under continuous ice cover in conditions of negative water temperatures. The values of part participation of separate taxonomic phytoplankton groups in total biomass and abundance of the community in different parts of the basin are given. It is shown that as for its composition the aigocenosis described possesses the major properties, typical of the spring stage of development. This testifies to the fact that in the estuary zones of the seas of the middle latitudes like in those of the Arctic region during winter period under the ice cover phytoplankton organisms preserve minimal level of physiological activity for supporting the "prespring" microalgal community structure.Представлены результаты изучения видового состава и количественных характеристик планктонных фитоценозов в Таганрогском заливе Азовского моря, развивавшихся под сплошным ледовым покровом в условиях отрицательных температур воды. Приведены величины долевого участия отдельных таксономических групп фитопланктона в общей численности и биомассе сообщества в различных участках водоема. Показано, что исследованный альгоценоз по своему составу обладает основными признаками, свойственными весенней стадии развития. Это свидетельствует о том, что в эстуарных зонах морей умеренных широт, так же как и в таковых арктического региона, в зимний сезон под покровом льда организмы фитопланктона при относительно низких показателях обилия сохраняют минимальный уровень физиологической активности, необходимый для поддержания «предвесенней» структуры сообщества микроводорослей
