Characteristics of irritability in a number of mass plankton organisms from the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean are considered on the basis of recording their motor and bioluminescent responses. Differences in irritability parameters (rheobase, chronaxia) are shown for organisms of different taxons. It is established that rheobase and a slope of hyperbola „force-duration" is always higher tor the systems ensuring light radiation.
