In fish dissected in the Gulf of Mexico were detected 73 species of helminths among which were 12 species — Monogenoidea, 13 species — Cestoda, 37 — Trematoda, 9 — Nematoda and 2 species — Acanthocephala. The morphology and systematics of detected helminths are presented. More than half of the detected species were noted in new hosts and for many helminths the Gulf of Mexico is egistered as a new region of spreading infection. A high intensity of infection at a significant extensivity of fish contamination is shown along with a rich species composition of helminthofauna of this region in the tropical zone of the Atlantic
