A new genus of trematodes from the family Didymozoidae in the Red Sea fishes

A new genus and species of trematodes: Skrjabinozoum exocoetidi Nikolaeva et Paruchin gen. et sp. n. is described from fishes of the family Exocoetidae (Cypselurus robustris, Cypselurus sp., Parexocoetus brachypterus). The parasite is localized in host tissues under the epithelium being not encysted. Body leaf-shaped, oval, sharply differs from all other species of Didymozoidae. The genus Skrjabinozoum confirms the close relation of Didymozoidae to other families of trematodes.В период работы III Красноморской экспедиции в 1966 г. на экспедиционном судне «Академик А.
