Bacterioplankton distribution in the studied region proved to be very nonuniform and this is most probably due to the different origin of water masses and to dynamic processes in the south-western sector of the cycle region. In a zone of sharply expressed South subpolar front and in near-front regions a considerable increase in bacteria number and biomass results from an intensive vertical water exchange.Изучено пространственное и вертикальное распределение бактериопланктона в юго-западном секторе круговорота.
