Asparagus can be considered as target crops for Se biofortification for producing spears with enhanced Se content and antioxidant proprieties. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation may affect selenium uptake from soil and the level of antioxidant compounds in vegetable crops.
