Silicon radiation detectors repersent one of the main research lines of the ITC-irst Microsystems Division. Speciali tailored fabrication technologies for particle detectors have been developed in the past fiew years, and production and R&D activities are now carried out in parallel. We report on the most relevant achievements, focusing the attentin on double-sided microstrip detectors for the AMS and the ALICE experiemtns, and new detector developments for X-ray medical imaging and future collider aplication
