In the wireless communication market, nearly ever incumbent operator has experienced business problems in recent years. The reason for this is the opening of the market to competitive operators and the following drop in prices as well as attractive services in the mobile telephony market. This article describes changes in competitive advantages deriving from the development of Third Generation services. In this article we (1) analyse the value chain strategy, (2) outline five competitive strategies, (3) validate them with reference to 16 netwok providers in 17 countries in Europe, US and Asia in order to analyse the behavior of systems not only in management but also in environment change, politics, economiv behavior
