This paper presents the Medieval and Byzantine works of art in Apulia studied by Jean-Baptiste Seroux d'Agincourt (1730-1814), some of them published in his Histoire de l'Art par les monumens depuis sa décadence au IVe siècle jusqu'à son renouvellement au XVIe. It is aimed to discover the d’Agincourt’s sources, drawings, prints and news collected by him, the idea he had about the Apulia’s territory and its monument
