The aim of the research was to determine the progress of changes in motivation for treatment and behaviour of people addicted to alcohol and its interconnections. 120 people addicted to alcohol (55 women and 65 men, aged from 23 to 65) treated at the National Centre for Addictive Disorders, Vilnius Branch, in Minnesota and Psychosocial rehabilitation programs were questioned. The questionnaire submitted to the examined people included sociodemographic questions, questions on use of psychoactive substances, questionnaires of circumstances, motivation, readiness and suitability (CMRS) (De Leon, 1993), SOCRATES-8A ( Miller & Tonigan, 1990).
