The main aim of this work was to isolate and to identify pathogenic fungi in cold stored wild carrots (Daucus carota L.). Four varieties ‚Nerac‘, ,Narbone‘, ‚Nipomo‘ and ,Niland‘ were investigated. Isolated fungi were morphologically grouped using a microscope: 302 isolates were grouped into 28 morphogroups. The DNA of the morphogroups representatives was extracted using CTAB protocol and identification was done amplifying ITS regions using ITS1 and ITS4 (White et al., 1990) primers. Based on sequencing it was determined that there were 18 different species or genera of fungi. Pathogenicity of those groups were tested on carrot dics and seedlings.
