The nuclear disarmament diplomacy between the u.s. and russia

The Nuclear Disarmament Diplomacy between the U.S. and Russia Master thesis „The U.S. and Russia‘s nuclear disarmament diplomacy“ tries to assess the nuclear disarmament relationship between the two most powerful countries and evaluate its impact to the international community and peace. The analysis begins with Joseph Stalin’s fear policy and continuous until the year 2016. Throughout the nuclear disarmament diplomacy narrative, this Master thesis tries to find out why the U.S. and Russia keep on voluntary disarmament. This is being explained with the help of the English school of international relations representative Hedley Bull, who is chosen for his unique approach to the diplomacy and disarmament logic itself. It is found out, that the criteria for the successful disarmament agreement is laid down in Hedley Bull’s disarmament policy, which is confirmed with the real ABM, INF, START and New START treaties. However, the main criterion for the nuclear diplomacy empowerment is being lost and the author does not provide answers how his policy is ought to exist in different international order. In addition, there are new nuclear armament issues that have never been touched upon by the two countries, so the tension is rising and the diplomacy is starting to grow week. But despite all these concerns that may or may not influence future disarmament treaties, this thesis proves that nuclear disarmament diplomacy between the U.S. and Russia has always been the main interest for both countries and it stood the test of time, through many different international crisis. That is why this kind of diplomacy is the main key why both countries are not keen on starting a war with each other
