Factors limiting the efficiency of an inverted perovskite solar cell

Kazimieras Petrauskas Factors Limiting the Efficiency of an Inverted Perovskite Solar Cell Perovskite solar cell (PSC) technology has been rapidly advancing over the past decade due to it‘s good properties for charge generation and cheap reproductory value. The main goal of this paper was to investigate the effects that PCBM and its solvents have on a perovskite layer with different deposition methods used. Due to low efficiencies recieved by using one step solution deposition method to form perovskite layer in an inverted solar cell (FTO/PEDOT:PSS/CH3NH3PbI3/PCBM/AL), two step sequential deposition method was explored. Also we tried to find an optimal solvent for PCBM and it‘s effects on perovskite layers, using different deposition methods for perovskite formation. To determine the recombinatory times in the perovskite and perovskite-PCBM junction layers, method of photoluminescent decay was used. It was found that luminescent decay times in perovskite layers increase greatly by using the two step deposition method, with the greatest result appearing from the post-treatment of chlorbenzene. Perovskite-PCBM junction had a similar behaviour in terms of the decay rate with both methods used with a very low time of luminesence meaning that an effective charge seperation was present. Yet PSCs fabricated by using the best method of a perovskite formation explored did not generate any current, thus further research is required. The conclusion of this paper was that: Luminescent decay time that was measured in the perovskite-PCBM junctions has greatly decreased due to present charge seperation resulting in less radiative recombination; An increase in the time of luminesence was achieved in perovskite layer by using two step sequential method for deposition and the post-treatment of chorobenzene, used as one of PCBM solvents; Two step sequential deposition method for perovskite layers proved to be better in terms of longer photoluminescent decay time
