The present study aims to address question whether work engagement fluctuates over days and what influence does work related boredom and self-efficacy has on it. Work engagement was conceptualized as a „positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption“ (Schaufeli & Bakker, 2003, p. 4). A sample of 35 „white collar“ employees filled in a quantitative diary for 5 consecutive working days. It was found that work related boredom was negatively related to vigor, dedication and absorption while self-efficacy was positively related to these work engagement dimensions.
