The Poet and the Soviet Reality in the Diaries of Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas This paper analyzes how the personality of Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas is revealed in his diaries written between 1961 and 1967. Putinas is considered to be one of the most authoritative authors who stayed in the occupied Lithuania. These previously unexplored diaries expand Putinas‘ image with new characteristics. This study aims to reconstruct the program of Putinas‘s later years, his attitudes and positions during the Soviet Era as well as his approach to reality by using the methods of Ego documentary and New Historicism.
