Text classification

This paper investigates the problem of text classification. The task of text classification is to assign a piece of text to one of several categories based on its content. Text classification is one of the tasks of natural language processing. Like the others, it is often solved using machine learning algorithms. There are many algorithms suitable for text classification. As a result, a problem of choice arises. In an effort to solve this problem, this paper analyzes various feature extraction and classification algorithms. Based on the analysis, an experiment is performed to measure the classification accuracy of each algorithm analyzed in the paper. Based on the results of the experiment, a set of conclusions is made which may help in choosing an algorithm
