Morbidity of HIV in Lithuanian Municipalities in 2001-2014 Justification. HIV infection is not only a complex problem in the medical system, but also a social problem. It is a public health concern. Everyone can cross paths with HIV infection, although the incidence of HIV infection among the entire population is different. Most often, HIV infection is faced by young people and people of working age. An important issue is that many people hide the fact that they are HIV positive and undergo examinations in private health care institutions because the society rejects such people, and those who do not know they are infected continue transmitting HIV infection within the society. Aim of the study – to assess inequalities in the incidence of HIV in Lithuania. Methods. Incidence of HIV in Lithuanian municipalities among the population aged 15-64 years was analyzed. The data were received from the Lithuanian Department of Statistics and the Health Information Center of the Institute of Hygiene. For data processing and analysis, MS Excel, R-3.1.3., OpenEpi and MapviewerTM7 were used. Incidence indicators were standardized using indirect standardization method. Changes in the HIV incidence rate in Lithuania in 2001-2014 was assessed by linear regression of standardized indicators. To compare incidence in terms of gender, place of residence and age (dividing into categories by age, next category older by 10 years), chi-square test. To compare standardized incidence indicators among the municipalities, the mapping and spatial analysis program MapviewerTM7 was used. Results and findings. An average HIV incidence rate in 2001-2014 was 1.92 / 100, 000, women: 1.4 /100,000 residents, men: 2.5 / 100,000 . An average HIV incidence rate in rural areas in 2001-2014 was: 1.01 / 100,000, in cities: 2.2 / 100,000. In 2008, the highest HIV incidence rate was in the age group of 35-44 years: 2.4 / 100,000 in 2010, the highest incidence rate was in the age groups of 25-34 years and 35-44 years, respectively 9.1 / 100,000 and 8.9 / 100,000. In 2014, the highest incidence rate was in the age group of 25-34 years: 8.1 / 100,000. The HIV incidence rate in the age group of 15-64 years in 2008-2014 varied, the situation in the country remained difference among municipalities. Most often, HIV cases are identified in the municipalities of large cities. In some municipalities, a decrease in HIV incidence rate was determined. Keywords: incidence, HIV, inequalities, differences
