Innovation: the main guarantor of success in the knowledge society

In the last few decades economic conditions has changed dramatically. The main changes are transformation in to knowledge economy, development of IT, globalization, increasing business dynamics and growing meaning of the persons' abilities. That means success is more and more based on persons’ ability to be creative. Innovation needs creativity, which is a process and capability to create new ideas and solve problems effectively. Main tasks are: to define relation between creativity and innovation; to identify factors, which compounds sympathetic environment for creativity and means of establishing them; to make analysis of creativity, success and innovation complex in knowledge based society. Creativity is necessary in the process of innovation. Establishing sympathetic environment for creativity is crucial factor for success. In managing creative activities it is recommended to use direction-setting goals, to provide employees with relevant information and knowledge, to allocate time resources adequately, to allocate tasks accordingly to personal interests and competence of employees, to create friendly work environment. The results of the survey made by Lithuanian confederation of industrialists have shown that Lithuania is still in “running after” states circle, and it has not much innovation enthusiasts. But there is high potential for solving this problem in the future. The results of this thesis can be useful for everybody which are interested in the field of creativity and innovation influence for success and want to continue the research in the theoretical and practical levels
