The objective of this study was to identify the developmental role of the investment instruments in the Sudanese economy. The problem of the study was the role played by investment instruments and their effectiveness in the performance of their developmental role in the Sudanese economy and the lack of awareness of the importance of investing in financial stock and their role in development. The study examined a number of hypotheses along with the main assumption that investment instruments contribute to the economic development in Sudan. The study used the descriptive analytical method and relied on the secondary sources of books, references, specialized journals, securities, scientific papers, previous studies, the web and the primary sources of reports of specialized institutions and publications. The study found several results, the most important of which is that the investment instruments contribute to the development through its contribution to GDP as a development indicator but a weak and limited percentage. It is a tool for attracting real resources instead of financing deficit or borrowing from the banking system as a single provider of finance and reducing its control. Lack of knowledge of the majority of the community members of the investment opportunities available in the Khartoum Stock Exchange because of the ineffectiveness of brokerage firms in the promotion of financial products and the culture of investment in securities. Based on these results, the study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which are the endeavor to develop the mechanisms of Islamic investment instruments to attract investors who are reluctant to do so, and the need to undertake a great media effort to promote financial products and to invest the investment culture in securities inside and outside the country in order to attract funds that are invested abroad, Increase investment awareness among individuals and encourage them to invest in instruments and increase investor confidence in entering into investments with the state and directing the resulting profits to serve the Sudanese economy and achieve its development
