الأثر الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والبيئي للاجئين في شرق تشاد (معسكر فرشانا 2004م – 2016م)

This study examined the social, economic and environmental, impacts of refugees in eastern Chad. ( in the period from 2004 to 2016) "Case Study of Farshana camp in Abeche" The present Research Study was define to the resources region and the impact of refugees on those resources that surround them, and the repercussion on social and economic life. In order to conduct this research, the researcher followed the case study. The study also relied on preliminary information (interviews), which was supported by secondary information. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: - The influx of refugees in large numbers towards the region led to the removal of trees from large areas, which affected the environment. - The slowdown of international organizations concerned with the protection of the environment and natural resources to curb the flagrant violation of the environment by refugees, while not taking into account alternatives such as afforestation and tree planting as alternative forests in all the camps hosted by Chad. - The impact of Sudanese refugees on the economic and social life of the host society. The study came out with some recommendations, including: International humanitarian law for refugees needs to be reformulated, including environmental law and guaranteeing the rights of the host State to minimize environmental damage caused by refugees. - Reforestation of the forest cover and planned replacement. - Raising environmental awareness among citizens and refugees and calling for the fight against over-logging and grazing, - Integration of political and humanitarian efforts in cooperation with the international community to find appropriate solutions to the problems of asylum in neighboring countries to reduce the flow of refugees in Chad - Provide alternative fuelwood methods such as the use of improved gas and fireplaces and distribute them at nominal prices to families in the camp and surrounding host community areas
