Four extenders for cryoconservation of pig semen were compared. Four treatments were used for freezing semen: Westerdorf modified, Thilmant, and trehalose with or without glycerol. A study was made of live and normal spermatozoids, and accrosomal integrity of fresh and thawed semen. Straws of 0.5 mL were utilized and thawing was conducted at 56ºC during 12 seconds. Ten ejaculates from the same sire were evaluated, examining 10 straws from every ejaculate per treatment. Semen quality variables were compared following an analysis of variance according to a nested block model in every treatment.
