Algunos estudios de manejo de cerdos pelón Mexicano durante el crecimiento

Behavior traits were evaluated in Nayarit pigs of the Mexican Pelon type, reared with three different types of management, which constituted the treatments to be evaluated. It was found a general tendency of the pigs raised in a semi-warm and without grazing environment, to show a greater growth rate with respect to the animals of Rosamorada, shepherding or not. This trend became significant (P <0.05) at 120 days of test, with a final weight of 51.3 kg and a gain of 0.38 kg / day. The Mexican Pelon pigs with the highest growth in semi-warm climate showed a dorsal fat thickness significantly (P <0.05) higher than those raised in the warm climate. En el segundo tratamiento, un total de 9 animales fueron engordados en clima cálido bajo un sistema de alimentación igualmente intensiva, con la misma dieta del tratamiento 1, en el que cerdos consumían solamente alimento completo a libre acceso. En el tercer lote, se emplearon 11 animales engordados en clima semicálido (Compostela), con un sistema de alimentación intensiva, en el que los cerdos consumían solamente alimento completo a libre acceso. Se encontró una tendencia general de los cerdos criados en ambiente semicálido y sin pastoreo, a mostrar una velocidad de crecimiento mayor con respecto a los animales de Rosamorada, pastorearan o no.
