This study deals with the Contrastive Analysis of English and Melayu in Diphthong sounds in the film “hidupku, solatku, matiku”. In order to bring this study into its purpose, the researcher identified two research problem, those are the similarities of English and Melayu in diphthong sounds in the film “hidupku, solatku, matiku” and the dissimilarities of English and Melayu in diphthong sounds in the film “hidupku, solatku, matiku”. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method and was taken place in the library of UMSU.
