This presentation provides a very brief overview of the essential strategies and instruments of German environmental law. In particular, it points out that German law has been very successful in mitigating environmental grievances by a standard oriented command-and-control approach, and also that the effects of more flexible instruments introduced in a later development phase often remained doubtful.Reese Moritz.
