An allanite-albite-hematite vein has been found in the south of the Vanoise massif (Western Alps). It cuts metamorphic schists and sandstones, forming a lens enclosed by Triassic gypsum. Optical, X-ray and chemical data are given for the allanite. The rare-earths distribution pattern shows a comparatively low concentration of the lighter rare earths. The hydrothermal association of the vein contrasts with the other allanite occurrences in the Alps. The age could be either alpine, permian or older. It may have originated in the reworking of an older occurrence, or be related with permian or older granitoids and metamorphism.Une veine comportant de l'allanite, de l'albite et de l'hématite a été découverte au sud du massif de la Vanoise, dans ...
