The 2006 Law reforms the status, spatial organization and functioning of National Parks. The Law is aimed at favouring their social and political acceptance, and is therefore geared at giving new impetus to the creation of parks that has stagnated for the past thirty years. However, communes are turning out to be higly circumspect of a law that appears, at first sight, to be extremely attractive, but of which they lack a grasp of the possible consequences in terms of government, territorial organization, socio-economic implications and environmental advantages. The case of Port-Cros National Park illustrates the difficulties encountered by the State in engaging in a venture, new to her, of decentralized and participatory protection.La loi d...
