The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals : a Renewed Approach to Human Rights ? Both human rights’ international law and sustainable development emerged at different times and in different legal and political spheres. As a result, they have developed ignoring each another. However, the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015 achieved a conceptual leap by associating them closely.
