Bezgranicznie szczere... na granicy (bez)wstydu : o współczesnych dziennikach

The putting and moving of the borders of autobiographical honesty of statement, considered on the example of contemporary Polish diaries, is the subject of the article. The category of truth and honesty taken up in theoretical reflection of researchers of autobiography and the increasing in the 2O'h century popularity of personal document, expressed in literary practice and reading reception, is the starting point of the discussed problem. Several variants of a diary form are discussed and characterized - as regards different usages and functions of honesty of statements: self-creating diary of Gombrowicz, intimate diaries of Nałkowska and Dąbrowska, diaries from the times of the Polish People's Republic of Kisielewski or Mycielski (being a testimony to freedom of thinking). Great attention is devoted to the diary of Gretkowska entitled Polka, which is presented as an example of overcoming of the borders of intimacy.
