Education Statistics in Latin America and the Caribbean

This report summarizes the results of a study of the education statistics in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), financed by the Ford Foundation and implemented by UNESCO's Regional Office for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO-Santiago). The study is based on two kinds of information inputs. The first is a study of sixteen education statistics systems in a sample of sixteen countries and other entities in LAC. The second set of inputs is a series of consultancy studies. Included in the study is a discussion and analysis on the condition of education statistics in the LAC region, categories of education statistics and indicators, and lessons learned from other regions
