Nicolas Dodier : Technical activity, forms of work organization and the question of society. The author examines to what extent a sociological theory of technique changes the way in which the sociology of work has traditionally studied the condition of operators in the workplace. He first of all characterises the “technical solidarity” which results from the common participation of human beings in the functioning of technical objects linked together in the framework of complex units. He then studies the condition of operators in two types of this soldarity, planned organizations and flexible organizations, through comparing in particular the way in which operators can bring a consciousness of the collective to bear in the two cases.L’auteur examine dans quelle mesure, une théorie sociologique de la technique transforme la manière dont la sociologie du travail a traditionnellement étudié la condition des opérateurs dans les entreprises. Dans un premier temps, il caractérise la «solidarité technique» qui naît de la participation commune des humains au fonctionnement d’objets techniques agencés dans le cadre d’ensemble complexes. Dans un deuxième temps, il étudie la condition des opérateurs dans deux types d’organisation de cette solidarité, les organisations planifiées et les organisations flexibles, en comparant notamment la manière dont les opérateurs peuvent faire valoir, dans l’un et l’autre cas, une conscience du collectif.Dodier Nicolas.
