The magnetic structures of both compounds belong to a propagation vector [1/2 0 1/2] . The Shubnikov group of Cu₂ Mn Sn S₄ is P₂[a]2₁ ; the spins are found collinear. For Cu₂ Mn Ge S₄ the magnetic group is P₂[a]c and the angle between the spins is about 80°. The part played by anisotropic interactions in these structures is discussed, in connection with the crystal symmetry in the ordered state.Les deux structures magnétiques admettent le vecteur de propagation [1/2 0 1/2].
