From ire to irony. (Special Issue: Puerto Rican Women Writers)

Feminist literature often expresses anger through irony as can be seen in the works of Anne Radcliffe, Mary Shelley and the Bronte sisters. The most common forms of irony are dramatic and literary irony. Feminist literature more often uses a third type of irony, described by Paul de Man as a speration of the writing self into linguistic and historical empiric selves.
